A letter from Terry Lovett, MD, as he takes a backseat role in the business:
Since starting our family estate agency business back in 1984 I have enjoyed a fantastic career in this industry, and witnessing first-hand all the peaks and troughs associated with residential property markets! However, I have now come to the decision that I will be stepping down as Managing Director, and will assume the role of Chairman of our Board, which will enable me to oversee our business activity but with less day-to-day involvement. As many may know, my son Tim came on board two years ago and I am delighted to say that along with the hard work and support of everyone, our business continues to prosper. With Tim at the helm I firmly believe our business remains in safe hands, and remain a progressive, family-run enterprise.
Our business faces many fresh challenges this year, not least from the unexpected Government intervention in our industry and the increased threat of on-line competition. However our Directors are very aware of the need to adapt as necessary in order to compete at the top and to continue providing an excellent service to our clients.
This is about as close to retirement as I intend to get so I expect I will still see our clients on a regular basis as I pop in and out of the office and grab some cake!
Regards
Terry Lovett,
Chairman, Lovett Sales & Lettings
