More than 1,000 homes are to be built on a greenfield site after they were approved by our local council.
Huntingdonshire District Council backed the second phase of the Loves Farm development in St Neots, east of the railway line last Monday.
The scheme also includes a hotel, pub, primary school, play areas, allotments and sports pitches.
Gallagher Estates has already built 1,200 homes for the first phase of the development.
A report given to the council prior to approval said officers were seeking about £8.6m towards the cost of a school and money towards infrastructure and health provision.
The report said St Neots Town Council was concerned that plans for "more houses without adequate provision of employment will only increase the number of commuters". This comes shortly after HDC approved a further 2,800 homes on the site just south of Loves Farm, at Wintringham Park.
At Lovett, we welcome the growth of our community, however we would also share the concerns of the Town Council, regarding the provision of ancilliary services for St Neots. Nevertheless with such a large number of new homes in the pipeline, we're hoping a new community will bring further vibrancy and a new cultural identity to the town.
"David and Rosie were superb from the minute of advertising our house to the day of moving. Both were very professional, and made us feel relaxed when talking to them.I will only use them from now on to sell in the future, in fact, if they left I would use them wherever they go."
